Campos do Jordão State Park
Located in the higher reaches of the Serra da Mantiqueira, 170 km north of the city of São Paulo, the region preserves one the largest Araucaria (Brazilian Pine) forests of southeastern Brazil. The region displays lovely areas of Atlantic rain forest and altitude fields. Birding in the park for species such as Vinaceous-breasted Parrot, Black-breasted Plovercrest, Black-billed Scythebill Woodcreeper, Araucaria Tit-Spinetail, Sharp-billed Treehunter, Gray-bellied Spinetail, Rufous-backed Antvireo, Greenish and Serra do Mar Tyrannulet, Black-capped Piprites, Hellmayr's Pipit, Thick-billed Saltator, Red-rumped and Bay-chested Warbling-finch and Night birding with the chance to see Rusty-barred Owl and Long-trained Nightjar.
